ABSTRACT

The disease caused by SARS COV2 initially identified in the city of Wuhan - China, covers a wide spectrum of respiratory conditions, mostly mild presentations;however, with a percentage of potentially lethal pathologies such as ARDS. There are also findings whose association with the new coronavirus is still uncertain;pleural effusions, mediastinal lymphadenopathy, pulmonary cavitations, have been described in patients with SARS COV2 infection. The purpose of this paper is to present a case of pulmonary cavitation in the context of the disease caused by SARS COV2 in a Hospital in Quito-Ecuador.Copyright © 2023 Sociedad Madrinela de Neumologia y Cirugia Toracica. ABSTRACT

Cyberbullying in the university context is a little-studied reality. The aim of this study is to analyse cyberbullying in university students before and after the lockdown due to Covid-19, establishing the roles of cyberbullying, the affects experienced, peer relations and social use of the internet. We have used a non-experimental, ambispective, descriptive and inferential cross-sectional design, employing three standardized and validated questionnaires, and one ad-hoc, in order to assess the influence of the lockdown. 586 students (MAge = 22.67;SD = 5.75;81.1% female) of Degrees and Masters at the University of Granada (Spain) participated, mainly from Social and Legal Sciences (44.20%) and Health Sciences (28.31%). Before the lockdown, 16.2% of the participants were cyber-victimized, 6.7% had bullied, 8.4% were victims/aggressors and 68.8% had no role. During the lockdown, the percentages of victims and victims/ aggressors decreased, while the percentage of aggressors rose. We found there to be an influence of sex, age and positive affects in the roles before lockdown (p <.05), and of age, negative affects and peer relations during the lockdown (p <.05). The victims were those who experienced the most negative effects and those who received most support from their fellow students during the lockdown. The decrease in victimization during the lockdown may be related to the greater support received by the victims, which acted as a protecting factor. The results show that emphasis should still be placed on a positive, non-harmful and responsible use of mobile telephones among young people. The university should promote a positive and inclusive institutional climate that helps to intervene, but above all to prevent cyberbullying. © 2022, Univ Nacional de Educacion a Distancia (UNED). ABSTRACT

This paper is based on a study that aims to understand the emotions students feel when they use the e-portfolio to manage their learning and assessment. The sample was composed of 358 students, and the instrument used was an ad hoc questionnaire. The students were asked to indicate the degree to which they experienced a set of emotions when using the e-portfolio. From the results obtained, it can be concluded that positive emotions are foremost and above average, ranked as follows from strongest to weakest: freedom, motivation, curiosity, and inquiry. The students evaluated negative emotions (disorientation and waste of time) as experienced less strongly. The results point out that younger students feel more comfortable with the use of technologies and specifically with the e-portfolio. In addition, men experienced the emotion "freedom" more than women. On the other hand, students in the third year of their respective degree programs experienced "freedom", "curiosity", and "inquiry" when using the e-portfolio to manage their learning. A clear relationship thus exists between emotions, motivation, and e-portfolio use, which appears to confirm that work in virtual contexts with this strategy stimulates student motivation.

ABSTRACT

Wheat is one of the three basic cereals providing the necessary calorific intake for most of the world's population. For this reason, its trade is critical to many countries in order to fulfil their internal demand and strategic stocks. In this paper, we use complex network analysis tools to study the international wheat trade network and its evolving characteristics for the period 2009-2013. To understand the vulnerability of each country's dependence on the imports of this crop we have performed different analyses, simulating shocks of varying intensities for the main wheat producers, and observed the population affected by the production drop. As a result, we conclude that globally the network is slightly more resilient than four years previously, although at the same time some developing countries have slipped into a vulnerable situation. We have also analysed the effects of a global shock affecting all major producers, assessing its impact on every country. Some comments on the COVID-19 outbreak and the political decisions taken by governments following the pandemic declaration are included, observing that given their capital-intensive characteristics, no negative effects should currently be expected in the wheat market.
